Free SIP Calculator โ€” Plan Your Mutual Fund Investments

A Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) is one of the most powerful ways to build long-term wealth. Instead of investing a large sum at once, you invest a fixed amount every month โ€” as little as โ‚น500 โ€” into a mutual fund scheme of your choice. Over time, two forces multiply your money: rupee cost averaging (buying more units when prices are low, fewer when high) and the power of compounding (your returns generating their own returns).

Our free online SIP calculator computes your expected future corpus instantly based on three simple inputs: your monthly SIP amount, the expected annual return rate, and the investment horizon in years. The results update live as you move the sliders. You also get a year-by-year growth table so you can see exactly how your corpus builds up over every year of the investment period โ€” no spreadsheet needed.

This tool is 100% free, works entirely in your browser (no data is sent to any server), and requires no sign-up. Use it to plan your retirement corpus, children's education fund, home down-payment savings, or any other financial goal.

How the SIP Formula Works

SIP returns are calculated using the Future Value of Annuity formula, which accounts for monthly compounding:

FV = P ร— [((1 + r)โฟ โˆ’ 1) / r] ร— (1 + r)

Where: FV = Future Value ย |ย  P = Monthly SIP amount ย |ย  r = Monthly interest rate (annual rate รท 12 รท 100) ย |ย  n = Total months (years ร— 12)

P (Monthly SIP)

The fixed amount you invest at the beginning of each month.

r (Monthly Rate)

Annual rate divided by 12 and 100 โ€” so 12% p.a. becomes r = 0.01 per month.

n (Months)

Total number of SIP instalments โ€” 10 years = 120 monthly payments.

Note: This calculator assumes a constant annual return rate (compounded monthly). Real mutual fund returns vary each year. Use these projections as estimates for goal planning, not guaranteed outcomes.

How to Use This SIP Calculator

  1. 1

    Set your monthly SIP amount

Drag the slider or type directly into the input field. Start with whatever amount you can commit to each month โ€” even โ‚น500 makes a meaningful difference over 10+ years.

  2. 2

Enter the expected annual return rate

Use a realistic rate based on the fund category. Large-cap equity funds have historically returned 10โ€“12% p.a. over long periods; small-cap funds have averaged 12โ€“16% with higher volatility. Debt funds typically return 6โ€“8%.

  3. 3

    Choose your investment horizon

Set the number of years you plan to keep the SIP running. Compounding rewards patience โ€” results at 20 years can be dramatically different from 10 years at the same monthly amount.

  4. 4

    Review the live results

The tool updates instantly. Check the total corpus, estimated returns, wealth multiple, and the visual breakdown bar to understand how much of your corpus came from investments vs. compound growth.

  5. 5

    Explore the year-by-year table

Click "Year-by-Year Growth Table" to see a detailed breakdown for every year โ€” useful for identifying when compounding really begins to dominate the growth trajectory.
